Maggie Wilson’s Journey with the Cannabis Plant

By Maggie Wilson

This summer, 2022, we are so excited to be releasing the Metaphysical Cannabis Oracle Deck from Maggie Wilson and illustrated by the wonderful Edge. Speaking with Iris Dorbian for Forbes last year, Maggie explained that “What makes this deck truly unique is not just that it’s a collaborative effort between two talented black women” but that it is “also unprecedented because it’s breaking the mold on what’s expected of the tarot or what’s the norm from an executive at a cannabis company. The deck itself is a love letter about the spiritual journey that so many have found with cannabis who were given relief, hope, joy and trust thanks to the plant.”

Here Maggie traces her relationship with the cannabis plant and how it has transformed over the course of her life so far.

Top 5 Tarot Decks of 2018

By Darren Shill

Darren’s top 5 tarot decks of 2018

So here we are, immersed in the joys of 2019, but still with a reflective mind to 2018. If not for an exceptionally busy end of year for Liminal 11, this would have been written earlier. So please forgive the tardiness.

Each year, the number of high quality tarot decks seems to find new peaks, whether self-published, through established companies or with the emergence of new publishers (tip of the hat to Liminal 11!). It really does seem to be a golden age to be a tarot enthusiast or collector. Are there too many decks to choose from? Personally, I think the wide variety provides the space to find a deck that connects more deeply with you… as for the extent that it is a problem, then it is certainly a premium one!

Catching up on Lisa Sterle’s Modern Witch Tarot deck

Catching up on Lisa Sterle’s Modern Witch Tarot deck

Lisa Sterle‘s Modern Witch Tarot is something Liminal 11 has had our eyes on since our earliest days as a startup. Having seen Lisa’s now-viral “Everything is Fine” 10 of Swords design, we were hooked. So imagine our joy when we had the opportunity to publish the deck! Since we first announced the publication back in April 2018 (a year and a half before our planning autumn 2019 publication date), we’ve had Lisa’s fans storming the gates to ensure they don’t miss out. (*HINT* sign up for our newsletter and we assure you that you’ll be among the first to know when pre-orders open!)

The Empress in The Luna Sol Tarot

The Empress in The Luna Sol Tarot

By Darren Shill

We hate to admit playing favourites, but all tarot enthusiasts have a particular card that has a personal spark. For me, it is the Empress (Kay‘s is The Hermit and Sarah‘s is the Ace of Swords, although Temperance calls out often!). Had you asked me when I was a younger reader, no doubt I would have chosen something wilder or stranger, but over the years the warmth and compassion of the Empress has melted resistance away. Now she stands apart.

Lots of love for the Luna Sol Tarot!

Lots of love for The Luna Sol Tarot!

It’s been an amazing month for Liminal 11! Our first products were launched; we’ve got distribution in the UK, Europe and North America; we went to Thought Bubble, Mind Body Soul Experience and the UK Tarot Conference (with more to come!); we’ve published three full chapters of the amazing Tales of the Tarot webcomic; and we’ve been getting a lot of really wonderful feedback on our publications! The Luna Sol Tarot has been especially popular, so we thought we’d thank the amazing reviewers and influencers who have shown us love by rounding up all of their kind words and coverage here!

It’s strange how one of the most interesting  Major Arcana cards (from a numerological perspective) arguably doesn’t have a number at all. Here is a Zero that could represent nothing but is the source of everything. It is the beginning and it is also the end.

The Ace of Swords in The Luna Sol Tarot

The Ace of Swords in The Luna Sol Tarot

By Sarah Wray

The Ace of Swords is a personal favourite of mine – one of those cards appeared in my earliest tarot readings, at exactly the moment I needed it to, and has appeared often since. It feels like something that’s connected to me at least for the moment. Frankly (and maybe a bit weirdly!) it feels like my card. It’s the first card I go looking for when I’m checking out a new deck. Usually identifying more with the watery emotions depicted by the cups suit (I am a Pisces, after all!), it’s necessary to come up for air from time to time and get some clarity. It certainly was for me on my 30th birthday, when I gave myself a reading while in a bit of a rut, and it has served as inspiration and reminder that, if I try, I can easily see what has to happen and, crucially, I already have all of the tools within me to set off on that path.
